How can i amke my room "more mature?"?

I am 11, and i last re-did my room when i was 8. I have a bunk-bed with purple flower covers and floral trim, matching dresser and desk, and i had my walls painted "FRENCH VIOLET." I know my friends think it is weird, but they just wont say, and it is ANNOYING! What little things can i do to make it better?

How can i amke my room "more mature?"?
1. Add decorative lights.

2. Add personal photos of friends and family in unique frames.

3. Display any collections that you may have like CD's

4. Frame a favorite poem, saying, or quote-hang it.

5. Change your window treatment.

Reply:This reminds me of the words in a song, "You can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself." So, don't change anything in your room as long as you like it. But you did say it's annoying. I guess you mean that it used to not be annoying when you made it that way 3 years ago.



Just something to think about. You have to live there more than anyone else, so don't worry about what others think.



When I was about 45, I put a dead rhododendron tree in the middle of my vaulted ceiling living room that had a loft too. I'm sure visitors thought it looked weird. But I'm an artist, and I did all kinds of other artsy things to my house, which was really the first one I had ever owned that didn't have other people living in it that I had to consider. It was fun to decorate it just the way I wanted, and to reflect my free spirit. I hope you do the same.



I hung plants and trained vine types of plants to grow on the branches of the tree. So, it didn't look dead.

It might help to incorporate an earth tone like brown or creme.



I would pick darker stained furniture to offset the lighter color.

Reply:well i am doing my room longhorns and my uncle just drew a longhorn on my wall today try putting ur favorite team as a theme or just make it creative maybe ur friends can help u out and maybe try tropical or a beach idk i just would think its kool!!! wat other stuff do u like??? hope u buches of luck!!!
