This question is for anyone who has ever attended a baptism?

My brother has asked me to be the God mother of his new baby girl and of course I said yes. However, she is being baptised the last sunday in march and I have no clue on what to wear. I got some advice and tips from my friend, but I cant seem to find anything anywhere. However, I did happen to browse on Dillards' website and found this really cute sun dress. It is on the dressy side, but it is also semi casual looking. But I was telling my friend about it and she asked me what the color of the dress is, and I told her it is white with peachy colored floral on it. She told me that sometimes you are not allowed to wear white to a baptismal. Is that true or is white okay? Technically the dress isnt only white. But I am just asking to be sure.

What do you think? Is white okay to wear to a baptismal or should I keep looking and find something else? What color would you suggest be okay to wear if not white?

I checked with my grandmother and she said that white is allowed at the baptism.
Reply:I would not wear a pure white dress, but what you have described sounds fine.
Reply:I was just about to suggest white. I'm not quite sure if that isn't allowed. I recently attended a baptism for a friend's baby. They dressed the baby in a white garment. Again, I'm not sure if white isn't allowed at a baptism but I would suggest something with bright colors. Like, a blue or a pink or even yellow.
Reply:you can wear anything.. there's no color-restriction.. and white would be a very good choice! just wear something semi-casual..
Reply:ummm....... i think taht u should wear a cute pant suit ..... but remeber 2 wear only fitted ones caz if it iz lose... then it will look awful!!!!!!

if u r keen on wearing a dress..... i suggest a cream colour so that u don't accidental violate teh dress code....... also a knee lenght with metallic high heeled sandals and a cute clutch...... i would reccomend a different dress caz it might b a little bit tooo summery for this kinda event.....

Stay Gorgeous,

Lollie
Reply:your going to church for a batism , make your outfit cool and sexy,m but make your outfit blend in alittle
Reply:wear white it symbolizes puriTy and cleanness
Reply:I dont think theres a dress code for a Baptism. a sun dress is perfect. a short dress would be the only inapproriete thing to wear. go for the sun dress! Good luck
Reply:I been to many baptisms and I never heard of a color regulation so any color should be fine but one thing I have heard was some woman wear there dresses with very low cuts and very high splits that is the only thing I would be mindful of
Reply:Don't wear white when it gets wet it will turn clear when it gets wet try something dark and nice yet not fancy!!!!!!

Hope this helps you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
