What is the difference between a rose and a sweetheart rose?

i'm looking at flowers for my girlfriend for valentines day and one of the floral arrangements i'm looking at has 48 roses (several colors) (at the same price as 12 red or yellow) but it says they're sweetheart roses, does this mean they are smaller and maybe that's why there are so many or are they crappy quality? i would like to get this for her because they're are so many but i don't want to get her something of low quality or cheesy. can anybody help me would you (women only) like this kind of thing vs. the standard 12? (her favorites are yellow and that's what i got her last year was 12 yellow and 1 red, she doesn't really like the reds all that much)

sweet heart roses are indeed much smaller. They are very cute though - and 48! I personally would prefer the tradtional size but I love the idea of mixing the colors!
Reply:Get her the Sweetheart roses and make sure she knows that they are Sweetheart roses---mention that in the card you send with the roses...Sounds soooo cute and sweet.DO IT GET THEM.
Reply:Roses are more formal for like you wife or longtime girlfriend ,but sweetheart flowers are for a crush
Reply:One heart felt rose would suffice. The only standards are the ones you personally agree with. Do your thing and be humble and honest. You will both be pleased no matter how many roses she gets. Its the thought not the count. Unless she's extremely shallow...that is another story. Good Luck!
