the walls in my bedroom are kind of a blue gray color. My furniture (dressers, night stand, tv stand) are all painted black. My comforter is a floral design of different blues, and some white (one of the blues in the comforter matches my walls exactly, so it goes together very well, which was a total fluke because I ordered it on ebay and it looked like a completely different color in the picture.)
I'm going to get some curtains, or some fabric, and turn my bed into a canopy. Should I get black, white, or try to match the blue in my comforter or on my walls? Or a different color?
What color fabric will go best?
I would find a different color than the wall it might be to much. You could go with black or maybe another color that is in you comforter. But I dont think I would go with the same blue on the walls. I think it my be overwelming. It is all up to you tho. Do what you think looks good.
Reply:I'd go with white but you could throw in some reddish orange %26amp;/or black for accents.
Reply:I would go in a different direction than trying to match... I would go with a medium chocolate brown canopy, and then some matching or coordinating pillows. That color would go very well with the blue-grey walls, warming them up. The color would also make your bed a more nest-like, comforting place with a warm, embracing color. The brown will coordinate with the black furniture without blending in and becoming a "blob;" you will be able to see both your canopy and the furniture as separate pieces.
Reply:Go with a pretty creamy yellow. It will go great with the blues. If you like, try a stripe. It will go great with floral. I had an ivy spread, ivy border, yellow walls and the window treatments were green, yellow, pink plaid with a white background. It was gorgeous!!!!!
Reply:creme, beige or ivory
Reply:I think you should go with white. You already have alot of color going on, and anything else might look too heavy and make the room look smaller. White is light and airy.
Reply:sounds like u got 2 much color in ur room already. 2 much color can be stressful 2 the easy. i would go for a soft white or very light cream, preferably voile (see through). it hags very well over a bed, %26amp; it looks geat.
Reply:Beige curtains, with black borders and black tie-backs.
