I am going to a 50th birthday party and do not know what to wear. The party is in a restaurant, not to fansey, but not a dump either. I had surgery a few weeks ago and I do not look to attactive is pants right now, I was thinking of wearing a dress, but I don't want to look over dressed. I am not the floral summer dress type, so I was going to wear a black one. The party is at night, so is this okay.
For my birthday, also held at a restaurant, everyone wore capris and jeans. I don't want to feel like a idiot.
Any suggestions.
How do you dress for a 50th birthday surprise party?
Find yourself a nice flowing tunic top and some loose fitting pants in a nice dark color. Wear some exciting earrings to show you have a fun side. The black dress is too formal.
Whatever you choose the important part is you will feel good about yourself and have a great time. Everyone who knows and loves you will understand you are not at your best because of the surgery...but you can look good and knock them dead. Good makeup - good earrings - clean hair and smelling good..they all will be jealous. Have fun!
Reply:no! you can never look too good. or try wearing a skirt. a black dress is fine, the color doesn't matter. just make sure to wear something you feel comfortable in, such as low-heeled shoes.
Reply:You can always dress the dress own. Don't wore really fancy shoes. Wear flip flops. Either flat ones, or kitten heals. You could always do a cute wedge sandal too. FInd a dress that is summery and not to to dressy. Or, call the people who are thowing it and ask what the dress code is. Dont wear alot of jewelry either. A simple necklace and a pair of earrings will do just fine. Light make up...and you are good to go! =0)
Reply:A basic black dress should be fine. Just dress it down. Don't over-do the jewlery, wear more casual shoes...etc.
You can never go wrong with a basic black dress!
Have a great time!
Reply:what better way to dress for an important birthday party .... wear your birthday suit :)
Reply:No CLOTHES!
Reply:wear a dress but dress it down with a pony tail, flat shoes and chunky jewelry (like big stone necklaces). keep make up neutral and fresh. and remember: the night is about the birthday girl/boy--not you. people won't really care what you were wearing, especially if your having a good time and everyone around you is having a good time too.
